CALCULATING THE STRESS INTENSITY FACTORS OF AUTOFRETTAGED THICK WALLED CYLINDER DUE TO THE RESIDUAL STRESSES AND THERMAL STRESSES

  • In this paper, the stress intensity factors of thick-walled cylinder with a edge crack due to the autofrettaged residual stresses and thermal stresses are calculated using a weight function method. The formulas, suitable to various thick-walled cylinder with different material, overstrain, depth of crack and size, are developed. A program computer is worked out.
