IDENTIFICATION OF TRANSVERSE SHEAR MODULUS AND AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF INTERLAMINAR SHEAR STRENGTH FOR COMPOSITE MATERIALS

  • This paper presents a method to identify transverse shear modulus for composite materials. The transverse shear modulus of the composite material is regarded as the function of transverse shear strain, thus the modulus is inVersely computed by the measured values of the strains. The relationship between strains and the modulus is obtained by the finite element method. The method to determine the interlaminar shear strength for composite material is also proposed by five-point bending test, and the experimental results are given.
