A DAMAGE PLASTIC CONSTITUTIVE MODEL FOR REINFORCED CONCRETE AND ITS ENGINEERING APPLICATION

  • A damage-plastic constitutive model for reinforced concrete is proposed by applying a Representative Volume Element (RVE). Assumptions of strain harmony and equivalent strength are adopted. The property of reinforcement within the RVE is modeled by defining hardening-softening law of the stress-strain curve of the Representative Volume Element. And the Representative Volume Element is taken as a uniform continuum. The model proposed here has enriched the library of models for concrete under tension in ABAQUS software. For the purpose of validation, numerical examples of uniaxial tension and simple-supported beam under bending were presented. Application of the model to the elastoplastic damage analysis of an engineering structure of reinforced concrete under soil pressure and underground water pressure was carried out.
