EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON SEISMIC PERFORMANCE OF FULL PRECAST SHEAR WALL-FRAME STRUCTURES WITH REINFORCEMENT SPLICED BY GROUT-FILLED SLEEVES

  • A cyclic lateral loading test was conducted on a full precast shear wall-frame structure specimen PC-3, which is a half-scale two-story two-bay RC shear wall-frame structure specimen with prefabricated shear wall panels and prefabricated frames, and in which all the longitudinal reinforcement in the frames were spliced by grout-filled sleeves. The seismic behaviors were studied comparing with existing experimental results, including the failure mode, hysteretic response, stiffness degradation, displacement ductility and energy dissipation capacities. All these parameters were compared with those of RCFW and PCFW2 studied in a companion paper. The test results show that the specimen PC-3 has a similar failure mode as the specimen RCFW, but exhibits shorter plastic hinges. The positions of the plastic hinges are shifted out. The test results also show that PC-3 has better energy dissipation capacity than RCFW. The seismic characteristic values such as the yield load, peak load, and ultimate load of PC-3 are larger than those of RCFW, but the difference is less than 5.0%. The displacement ductility of PC-3 is slightly less than that of RCFW, and the energy dissipation capacity of PC-3 grew more steadily during the whole loading process. The experimental investigation indicates that the two kinds of full precast shear wall-frame structures proposed in this paper and the companion paper have good seismic performance, and either of them can be chosen by designers when needed.
