STUDY ON PEDESTRIAN LEVEL WIND ENVIRONMENT OF HOPSCA USING THRESHOLD-OF-PROBABILITY-OF-EXCEEDANCE

  • Wind tunnel tests of pedestrian level wind environments influenced by large scale construction and dense buildings for a HOPSCA (Hotel, Office, Parking, Convention, Apartment) development were conducted. Estimations of the wind environment using four different criteria are presented and discussed based on the GEM and local climate information. The results indicate that Force Technology-DMI criterion is the most rigorous for sitting individuals, the Isyumov and Davenport criterion for standing individuals, and Michael J. Soligo criterion for walking individuals. Furthermore, the UWO criterion is the most undemanding for all human activities.
