WIND-INDUCED FATIGUE ANALYSIS OF WIND TURBINE SYSTEM BASED ON TOWER-BLADE COUPLED MODEL

  • Taking a 5 MW large wind turbine system as an example, the prediction method of wind-induced fatigue of wind turbine system was proposed. The aerodynamic loads on wind turbine system were calculated with harmonic superposition method and modified blade-element momentum theory, then the nonlinear time-history wind-induced responses of wind turbine tower-blade coupled structure were analyzed, in which the wind shear, tower shadow, wake effect, tower-blade aerodynamic interaction, rotational effects were taken into account. Based on the calculating results the wind-induced fatigue life was predicted with linear cumulative damage theory. The fatigue residual life can be estimated accurately by the prediction methods, which provides the scientific basis for the fatigue life prediction of large wind turbines system.
