ANALYSIS OF FOUNDATION SOIL EFFECT ON DYNAMIC PERFORMANCE OF SINGLE-LAYER SPHERICAL LATTICED SHELL UNDER COOPERATIVE WORK

  • In order to make a comprehensive analysis of the effects of different foundation soil on the natural vibration characteristics and seismic responses of a single-layer spherical latticed shell, the analysis is made on an integral model based on a modified S-R (Sway-Rocking) model. The integral model consists of a single-layer spherical latticed shell, a support structure and its foundation soil. The numerical results show that the nature periods of the single-layer latticed spherical shell increase obviously and the vertical mode shapes appear earlier with foundation soil becoming soft when the cooperative work between the foundation soil and the superstructure is considered. The member axial forces and the maximal vertical acceleration of nodes decrease significantly with the foundation soil becoming soft under an earthquake action. Furthermore, the maximal horizontal displacement of nodes increases gradually with the foundation soil becoming soft, while the maximal vertical displacement decreases.
