FIRE CONDITION

Abstract
The full failure process of a moment-resistance frame is analyzed using explicit dynamic analysis in order to investigate the progressive collapse behaviour of a steel frame structure under oil and gas fire. The oil or gas fire is expressed as a hydrocarbon combustion fire temperature-rise curve. The variations of member internal-force and deformation against temperature are obtained. ISO834 standard fire temperature-rise curve is used in order to research the influence of different heating rates and maximum temperature on structure fire responses. The analysis results show that the different heating rates and maximum temperature will lead to different time to enter a failure state. The two factors should be taken into account in fire analysis.
