A SIMPLIFIED METHOD FOR ESTIMATING ALONG-WIND LOADS AND WIND-INDUCED RESPONSES OF HIGH-RISE BUILDINGS

In this paper, the along-wind loads and wind-induced responses of high-rise buildings are decomposed into mean, background and resonant components. The distribution of background component is same as that of mean component in the inertial force model when calculating the resonant component. Simplified formulas foralong-wind equivalent wind loads and wind-induced responses are presented, which are independent of type of response. Two typical engineering examples are studied to verify the present method.
